Serious Boat Accident in Ibiza Injures Catamaran Captain
A high-speed boat accident in Ibiza sent shockwaves through Cala d’Hort on Monday evening. Two vessels collided, leaving a 53-year-old woman with serious injuries.

At around 7:30 PM, a 15-metre speedboat slammed into a smaller catamaran just off the coast of Sant Josep. The impact was strong enough to sink the catamaran. The woman, a Spanish national and the vessel’s captain, was the most seriously hurt.
Emergency Services Respond Rapidly
Paramedics from SAMU 061 rushed to the scene. They deployed an Advanced Life Support unit, a Basic Life Support ambulance, and a Rapid Intervention Vehicle. The injured captain was taken to Hospital Can Misses with multiple injuries and listed in serious condition.
Other Passengers Sustain Minor Injuries
Other people aboard the catamaran suffered minor injuries. Medical staff at Can Misses treated all of them for precautionary evaluation. Health officials from Ibiza and Formentera report that the woman stays under observation and should recover soon.
