Here, he introduced the island to house music, blending it with various genres to create what would become known as the Balearic Beat. In 1988, DJ Mag recognized Alfredo as DJ of the Year. He then moved to Pacha in 1990, where he continued to influence the electronic music scene, also playing at clubs like Privilege and Space. His eclectic style and innovative mixing techniques made him a pivotal figure in club culture.
Health Challenges and Community Support
The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic hit Alfredo hard. In 2020, he suffered a stroke and struggled financially without club earnings. In 2021, a fundraiser helped him survive the initial financial distress. However, his health deteriorated, leading to another campaign named ‘Alfredo needs you’ in 2024, which raised over 20,000 euros to support his care.
Tributes and Legacy
Amnesia paid tribute on Instagram, stating, “Thank you for the nights and beats we shared together. Your legacy will live on our dancefloor forever.” Fans and fellow DJs across the world have expressed their sorrow, celebrating his life and the joy his music brought.
