The 2024 tourism season in the Pitiusas islands has brought a mix of stability and growth, particularly in hotel occupancy rates. According to the latest data from the Federation Empresarial Hotelera de Ibiza y Formentera (Fehif), the average hotel occupancy stands at 81.6%

The Ibiza and Formentera hotel occupancy 2024 reflects a slight decline of 0.14% compared to last year. This marginal decrease indicates a stable tourism environment, with variations across different regions and months.

Ibiza’s Performance

In Ibiza, the average occupancy reached 82.2%, experiencing a minor drop of 0.49%. Central areas like Ibiza Town saw occupancy rise to 83%, while regions such as Santa Eulària, Sant Josep, and Sant Antoni faced slight decreases.

Formentera’s Growth

Conversely, Formentera reported an occupancy rate of 73.7%, marking a 1.88% increase from the previous year. This growth highlights Formentera’s rising popularity among tourists seeking a quieter getaway compared to Ibiza.

October: A Month of Recovery

October played a crucial role in boosting overall occupancy rates. The Ibiza and Formentera hotel occupancy 2024 for October reached an average of 69.8%, showing a 3.2% increase. Specifically, Ibiza’s occupancy rose to 70.3%, up by 2.5%, while Formentera surged to 62.6%, a significant 7% growth from last year.

Strategic Initiatives Driving Success

The successful increase in October is attributed to strategic efforts to extend the tourist season. Enhancements in city and northern zone areas have effectively attracted more visitors, ensuring sustained interest even as the peak season winds down.
