Italian DJ Death in Ibiza Sparks Investigation After Knife Incident and Police Custody

The island of Ibiza, known for its vibrant nightlife and music scene, is now the centre of a shocking case involving the Italian DJ death in Ibiza. The deceased, 35-year-old Michele Noschese—artistically known as DJ Godzi—reportedly died after an altercation with police following a drug-fuelled episode.

According to the Civil Guard Command in the Balearic Islands, the incident took place early Saturday morning in Santa Eulària. Noschese allegedly broke into his elderly neighbour’s house under the influence of drugs and threatened the occupant with a knife. Responding officers stated he showed signs of hallucinations and aggressive behaviour.

Police Response and Fatal Outcome

When the officers arrived, they attempted to restrain Noschese. During the intervention, he began convulsing. Police say they administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation until medical teams arrived. Despite their efforts, the DJ was declared dead at the scene.

Noschese’s family contests this version. His father told Italian newspaper La Repubblica that his son died while in police custody, and the family has formally requested an investigation into possible police misconduct. The Spanish authorities have launched an inquiry and are collaborating with judicial officials.

Legal and Diplomatic Involvement

The Spanish justice system is conducting an autopsy and forensic examination. The Italian consulate in Barcelona is monitoring the case closely. Meanwhile, Italian media revealed that the events may have begun the night before at a party held at the DJ’s home. Loud music prompted complaints from neighbours, leading to the Civil Guard’s involvement.

Noschese had lived in Ibiza for 10 years. Before his music career, he played for Napoli’s youth football team and held a degree in Economics and Commerce. The Italian DJ death in Ibiza has left both locals and the international community demanding answers.
