Ibiza Road Accidents Due to Rain

The sudden downpour began around midday, turning the island’s roads into hazardous pathways. One of the most notable incidents occurred at the infamous Cazadores intersection, known locally as a “black spot.” Here, three cars collided due to the slippery conditions. Eyewitnesses confirmed that while the accident looked severe, all drivers and passengers escaped unscathed.

Another accident happened simultaneously on the road connecting Sant Joan and Santa Eulària. This time, three cars were involved in a collision, again caused by the rain-slicked surfaces. Local roadside assistance teams, including Grúas Ibiza, were quickly overwhelmed as they scrambled to clear the vehicles involved in these accidents.

Response and Recommendations

Authorities are urging drivers to exercise extreme caution during wet conditions. “The roads can become particularly treacherous when rain follows a long dry spell,” a spokesperson from the local traffic department warned. They also advised reducing speed and increasing following distances to prevent further incidents.

Despite the flurry of accidents, the prompt response from emergency services ensured that the situation remained under control. However, the day’s events serve as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by Ibiza’s roads during adverse weather.

As the rain continues, local authorities remain on high alert, prepared for any further developments.
