Reggaeton Takes a Backseat in Ibiza's Club Scene for 2023 Season

The 2023 season in Ibiza is just around the corner, and the island’s major clubs have already announced part of their programming. One surprising element, which we are thrilled about, is the lack of reggaeton and Latin sounds in the line-up of clubs such as Pacha, Ushuaïa, and Hï Ibiza.

Pacha

Pacha will not feature Latin sounds in the core of its season, with the only novelty coming from CamelPhat on Tuesday nights. The rest of the week will continue the 2022 line-up with Solomun, Marco Carola, and Claptone headlining the weekend. SAGA, Flower Power, and Pure Pacha featuring Robin Schulz complete the week.

Hï Ibiza

Hï Ibiza, on the other hand, is focusing on the visual show of Eric Prydz HOLO Ïbiza for a night that had previously featured non-electronic sounds on Mondays. Techno artists Adam Beyer and Patrick Topping in the club room will headline the rest of the nights. The Martinez Brothers on Tuesdays, Fisher on Wednesdays, Afterlife on Thursdays, and David Guetta, Black Coffee, and Glitterbox on weekends complete the line-up.

Ushuaïa

Ushuaïa will maintain a similar policy this year, with the return of DJ Tiesto after ten years, who will be one of the highlights of the season along with ANTS, which will invade Ibiza every Saturday. Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Tomorrowland day (Wednesdays), Martin Garrix, and Kygo are the remaining resident artists.

Amnesia

Moving from Playa d’en Bossa to the San Antonio road, specifically to Amnesia, the club has only announced two of its residencies so far, Pyramid on Sundays and Danny Howard, Sonny Fodera, and Gorgon City on Mondays. The rest of the week is yet to be announced. Another club on the island, DC10, has announced its star party, Circoloco.

The Reggaeton genre has never had the expected impact in Ibiza, and even big names have not generated significant revenue. While there may still be Latin sound parties during the challenging months of May and June, no residency currently includes Reggaeton.
