RESISTANCE Ibiza is now deep into a second stunning season at the world’s biggest nightclub, Privilege, where there have been plenty of musical highlights and much still left to come.
RESISTANCE understands how to produce large-scale, proper techno events. “There are no corners being cut here at RESISTANCE” says Carl Cox, the brand’s Global Ambassador. The lineups are carefully curated and feature exclusive back-to-back sets from titans of the scene. The production is next level and immerses you in a futuristic world, where the Funktion-One sound systems are clear, punchy and loud, transforming the atmosphere in Privilege into a setting like no other in the world.
The residency kicked off with a massive Opening Party that set the tone early on, showcasing artists such as Seth Troxler, Loco Dice, Sasha | John Digweed, Paul Woolford, Charlotte De Witte, Joris Voorn and Dense & Pika. From there, only more quality and diverse lineups have been featured consistently. Week 2 saw Richie Hawtin host his PLAYdifferently showcase with an all-star cast of women taking control of the terrace for all vinyl sets, while the legendary Dubfire, Nicole Moudaber and Paco Osuna all went back-to-back, packing out the Main Room. Richie himself put on an all inclusive tech-clinic making use of the sound system, production, and massive space around him for a cohesive experience that was totally mind blowing.
Adam Beyer and the Drumcode family took similar action in Week 4 with a monstrous takeover that featured Adam Beyer B2B Joseph Capriati for the first time ever in Ibiza.
Beyer himself was won over by the experience saying on Twitter “Resistance last night was one for the books! I love this place so much and i can’t wait to do it again soon!”. Eats Everything adding of his own set, “Sometimes, when you play, you feel it goes amazing. It’s kind of you against yourself mentally but last night at @ResistanceMusic, it was an absolute belter and I know it. So big up all of you for making it wicked and big up Resistance for being spectacular.”
Expectedly, the highly anticipated Carl Cox RESISTANCE Ibiza debut was nothing short of wildly successful. His birthday party during Week 3, which is historically always one of the biggest parties on the White Isle, was easily the party of the season. The legendary event saw the Ibiza return of Carl Cox B2B Nic Fanciulli for the first time since the closing of Space, packing out the Terrace early. Week 6 saw similar action and between the two Carl Cox shows over 17,000+ people pack out the club with over 1 million people tuned in, from around the world across both live streams. When asked about the growth of the (Resistance) residency on the island Carl Cox said, “Resistance in Ibiza is the future. It’s something we believe in…”
