SHINE Ibiza Cancelled This Season: Trance Fans Left Disappointed

SHINE Ibiza Cancelled: Trance Favourite Pulled from Eden’s 2025 Line-Up
Fans of trance have been dealt a heavy blow. SHINE Ibiza, the long-standing party brand led by Paul van Dyk, has officially cancelled its much-anticipated 2025 residency at Club Eden in San Antonio. The event was scheduled for four Thursdays in September, beginning on the 4th and concluding on the 25th.
The SHINE team broke the news today via an official statement. They cited “circumstances beyond our control” as the reason, without further clarification. According to the post, all ticket holders will receive full refunds via the original ticket outlet. An alternative event is in the works, scheduled for 25 September in Ibiza. No additional details have been released so far.
The announcement has sparked disappointment across the global trance community. SHINE Ibiza has become a key part of the island’s electronic music landscape. Its focus on trance makes it a unique offering in a scene largely dominated by techno and house.
A Brief History of SHINE Ibiza
Since its debut in 2017 at Privilege’s Vista Club, SHINE has evolved into the island’s most important trance residency. The move to Eden in 2019 allowed the brand to grow, thanks to the club’s dedicated following and powerful sound system.
In 2023, SHINE ran from July through late September, with Paul van Dyk and guests like Bryan Kearney and Aly & Fila leading the charge. The 2024 season celebrated the brand’s fifth anniversary with an expanded programme, including “All Night Long” sets.
This year’s cancellation, especially after such momentum, leaves a noticeable gap in Ibiza’s event calendar. The 2025 line-up had promised four nights of high-energy trance, with Paul van Dyk playing every date, joined by genre heavyweights including John O’Callaghan, Amy Wiles, and Stephen Kirkwood.

What’s Next for SHINE Ibiza?
Although the full residency has been cancelled, the team is planning an alternative one-off show on 25 September. Whether this single event can match the scale and spirit of the residency remains to be seen.
For now, fans can only wait and hope that SHINE Ibiza returns in 2026 with renewed strength. But one thing is certain—SHINE Ibiza cancelled has become one of the summer’s biggest disappointments.
