Two of the Most Searched Beaches in Ibiza Are Trending Online in 2025
Cala Benirras

Two of the Most Searched Beaches in Ibiza — Cala Bassa and Cala Benirrás — have made it to Spain’s top 50 most searched beaches online, according to a new study by Semrush, a global leader in digital visibility. The study analysed over eight million queries to understand how people plan their holidays and what’s catching their attention in 2024 and 2025.

Ibiza’s Beaches Go Digital

Ibiza continues to captivate beach lovers. Cala Benirrás recorded 56,833 average monthly searches, while Cala Bassa followed closely with 50,167. This high volume places both among the most searched beaches in Ibiza and confirms their popularity not just on the island but across the country.

These numbers show a strong interest that begins well before the summer heat arrives. Searches related to beaches in general peak in May, with 246,000 monthly queries. This trend suggests early planning is common among tourists.

Baleares Takes the Crown

The Balearic Islands dominate Spain’s beach search rankings. Five of its beaches made the top 50, with Mallorca’s Playa de Muro leading in the region at 146,667 searches per month. Following closely are Menorca’s Cala Macarella and Cala Macarelleta, both with 103,500 searches.

Among the Balearics, Ibiza’s entries stand out not only for their beauty but also for their rising digital footprint. Both beaches — now among the most searched beaches in Ibiza — offer distinct experiences: Cala Benirrás for its iconic drum sunsets, and Cala Bassa for its crystal-clear waters and relaxed vibe.

Changing Search Patterns

Travellers now search with precision. Terms like nudist beach and dog-friendly beach have seen significant growth. Nudist beaches reached 110,000 searches in August, far above the yearly average. Searches for dog beaches increased by over 20%.

In parallel, beach gear trends also rose. Beach chairs saw nearly 100,000 searches during summer months, and beach towels crossed 50,000.

These trends reflect how preferences are evolving. Tourists look for tailored experiences, and these insights help tourism businesses adjust their strategy.

A Digital Pulse of the Coast

The data confirms a key takeaway: being among the most searched beaches in Ibiza is no coincidence. Both Cala Bassa and Benirrás align with what today’s travellers seek — charm, amenities, and shareable moments. As summer arrives, they will likely remain on every sun-seeker’s radar.
