Hidden away from the majority of the super clubs, Amnesia is located on the highway halfway between San Antonio and Ibiza Town, an exciting taxi journey for any newcomer to the club.
Formerly recognised as “The Workshop of Forgetfulness”, Amnesia Ibiza was originally a secluded farmhouse refuge used by hippies fleeing the Vietnam War draft in search of expanding their minds after reaching Ibiza, king of the Balearic Islands.
Opening as one of the original Ibiza club phenomenon back in 1976, whilst it’s fan base has grown on a rapid international scale, it still possesses that typical Spanish vibe. A remarkable achievement for a club that holds a capacity of 5000 sweating but passionate, hardcore ravers.
The music and crowd may have evolved but the hedonistic mentality of escapism remains very much the same.
There are two unique rooms at the famous Amnesia Ibiza venue – the main room and the terrace. A space which previously existed as open air but now is enclosed with a greenhouse terrace that provides a wonderful viewing for those still left standing at sunrise as rays beam down on the dance floor burning even further atmosphere into the building.
The main room includes the infamous ice-cannon which is a blessing in disguise for those roasting up on the dance floor as it acts as a cooling sensation balancing out the heat and sweat. The sound system and lighting in this particular room are also just a few of the stand-out highlights.
As club nights and brands come and go there’s only a few which have been able to call this amazing venue “home”. Its longest running club night is the legendary brand Cream which rained down on Amnesia Ibiza back in 1995 and was introduced by Joseph Mullen. Sven Vath’s Cocoon is also another huge night which was become a fan favourite amongst Amnesia regulars over the years.
If the dance floor isn’t already the ultimate Ibiza experience for you, you can upgrade your experience to VIP and party like the rock-star you know you can and enjoy such privileges as table service in the raised VIP area which overviews the rest of the crowd.
Remember to book early as the parties at Amnesia are extremely popular and pre-sale tickets sell out well in advance!
