  • Diversions: With flights canceled in Ibiza due to the weather, eight flights that were scheduled to land in Ibiza were redirected to other airports.
  • Cancellations: In total, 27 flights were canceled in Ibiza, encompassing 13 arrivals and 14 departures.
  • Palma Airport:
  • Diversions: 18 flights meant for Palma had to divert their routes due to similar weather adversities.
  • Cancellations: At Palma, 56 flights saw abrupt cancellations, with 27 at the origin and 29 in the Balearic capital.
  • Menorca Airport:
  • Diversions: Three flights got diverted, further highlighting the storm’s impact.
  • Cancellations: Seven flights were cancelled in Menorca on that chaotic Sunday.

On the whole, while the airports had planned around 1,455 flights on the concluding Sunday of August, the turbulent weather resulted in numerous flights canceled in Ibiza and its sister islands.

The storm’s reach went beyond just canceled flights in Ibiza. The entire Balearic region witnessed its intensity. By 4:00 p.m. that Sunday:

  • 260 incidents across the Balearic Islands:
  • Palma: Logged 133 incidents.
  • Calvià: Faced 51 storm-related disruptions.
  • Sóller: 10 storm-led incidents.
  • Menorca: Recorded 17 incidents, with Ibiza registering 8.
